Handbag care

Proper handbag care

We apply cream to our hands and face when they need moisture.
It's similar with our bags.

Waterproofing a handbag

If you own a leather handbag, you should waterproof it soon after purchase. This will protect your bag from unsightly stains in wet and rainy conditions. Please use only a small amount of spray and repeat the process approximately every eight weeks. We recommend the following waterproofing spray for your handbag: Nano Plus Waterproofing Spray for Smooth and Suede Leather *.

Leather care for your handbag

Each type of leather has its own characteristics and therefore requires special care.

Handbag smooth leather care

ATTENTION: Smooth leather can also have a natural grain structure.
The handbag in the photo also shows a smooth leather handbag.

Valentino leather handbag

Smooth leather handbags are best cared for with leather cream. Please apply only a small amount to avoid unsightly stains.

Every 6-12 months, apply COLOURLOCK Elephant Leather Grease * sparingly.

It is ideal for smooth leather and extends the life of your handbag.

For older handbags, the leather should also be cleaned (not too wet!). We recommend a mild leather cleaner *.

Suede care

Velvety suede, nubuck, or velour leather are particularly delicate and require particularly careful care. Unfortunately, no cleaning product for suede leather has convinced us so far:

  • Waterproof the leather
  • Do not use this bag on rainy days.

Handbag patent leather care

You can recognize patent leather by its shiny appearance, as it has been varnished on the surface. This already provides optimal protection. No need for creams or similar products. To care for it, use a slightly damp microfiber cloth *.

Handbag Canvas Care

Canvas is primarily used by Louis Vuitton and Gucci. The material is relatively robust, but also requires protection. Therefore, we recommend treating it with a good waterproofing spray *. The same applies to faux leather bags.

Protect the interior of the handbag

If possible, always carry your makeup in a separate cosmetic bag instead of throwing it in your bag. Always keep the lids on pencils and creams tightly closed. This won't take long and will save you a lot of money if you need to restore your bag.

1. TIP: The cleaning ball * is available in various colors, reusable, and weighs only 16 grams. The ball has holes and is empty; over time, it fills with crumbs, dust, and everything else we have in our bags. The ball is also ideal for a school backpack.

2. TIP: Zipper all-purpose bag* for storing makeup, pens, and other items. I've attached a link. But please buy it at a supermarket or drugstore, where the price is significantly lower than on Amazon.

Handbag metal care

We use magic sponges for this. These versatile sponges are briefly moistened and clean the metal super fast.

TIP : Buy the magic sponges at a drugstore; they're very affordable there. Alternatively, you can find an Amazon link here: Magic Sponge *.

How to store your handbag properly

The magic word is dust bags! These are usually included with the purchase and are made of cotton. If you don't have one, please don't use plastic ones, as moisture can build up there. Alternatively, you can use cotton pillowcases or special storage bags *.

Clean your handbag properly (odors, stains).

Anti-odor for handbags

1. TIP : Apply vinegar water carefully and sparingly and let it dry.

2. TIP: Send us an email. We're currently working on a product that hasn't existed before. Perhaps you'll be one of our beta testers.

Anti-stain for handbags

Apply a little soap to the stain and rub it in gently. Let it work for about 5 minutes. Apply lukewarm water to a cotton swab and then gently dab. Then, dry thoroughly with a cloth.
